At the preschool level, start counting up to 20. Add small numbers, 1 plus 1 is 2. 2 plus 1 is 3. You can even begin the fraction of one half. Half a sandwich, and other food items are a great start. When finishing kindergarten, your child needs to be able to count past 20 and know what larger numbers mean as well. Not working with them, just be familiar. In first grade it is essential that your child begin basic math facts. Most schools do a good job at starting basic math facts.
Clear your doubts thoroughly and memorize formulas for their right implementation. Understanding math formulas are not enough to score well in exams. Students should know their right implementation and hence, they can achieve their learning goal.
